Oakridge Claims focuses on representing veterans and eligible claimants after VA has issued a decision, and accepts initial and new claims case by case. We review what VA decided, develop the record each appeal needs, and determine the appropriate path forward.
Oakridge is intentionally not a high-volume claims company. The practice focuses its time on post-decision matters where careful review of the VA record, evidence, rating criteria, procedural history, and applicable law may meaningfully affect the outcome.

We maintain selective case acceptance so that accepted matters receive individualized review. Some cases will not be accepted, and honest case evaluation is part of the service. Oakridge accepts initial claims on a case-by-case basis at no charge for work before VA's first decision.
Special Monthly Compensation decision reviews
SMC is a featured practice area: overlooked SMC-S, SMC-L and regular aid and attendance, potential higher levels, loss of use, and effective-date disputes. Reviews consider rating decisions, private and VA medical evidence, and lay records; a current 100% rating or SMC award does not automatically establish further entitlement.

Oakridge Claims was founded by Esteban Magallon, its principal representative and a VA-accredited claims agent. Esteban is a United States Marine Corps veteran and a Registered Nurse — a background that helps him read and interpret medical records and clinical documentation as part of reviewing a VA decision.
His nursing background is applied solely in support of claims representation and does not constitute the provision of medical advice or medical services.
Accepted cases are reviewed directly by the accredited representative. Clients work with Esteban throughout the appeal — reviewing what VA decided and the underlying record, identifying errors or gaps, and presenting the matter in the appropriate VA review lane.

Oakridge Claims is based in Indio, California, in the Coachella Valley of Riverside County. The practice is fully remote with no physical office, serving veterans across the desert region — including Twentynine Palms and the High Desert — the rest of Southern California, all 50 states, and veterans living abroad.
